The useful filler question is rarely “how many ml can I have?”. It is whether a woman’s own face needs a small amount of volume, and where, and what should be left alone. A lip that has lost its border is a different problem from a cheek that no longer supports the mid-face, and both are different from a tired look that is actually skin quality. Diamond Clinic in Maslak, Istanbul, plans facial filler for women after that distinction is made. If filler is the wrong tool, the plan changes. A line that only appears when the brow lifts may need Botox. Dull, crepey skin with an acceptable shape may need skin boosters. Some faces need nothing injected before a flight home.
This page is the conversation we expect before anyone books travel around a syringe. It is not a price list and it is not a promise that a face will look a certain way.
What filler changes, and what it leaves
Most facial filler used in a conservative plan is a hyaluronic acid gel. Hyaluronic acid is already present in skin and holds water, which is why a well-placed small volume can look like support rather than a lump. The gel is placed to restore a border, to support a cheek, or to soften a fold that has become heavier than the rest of the face. It does not tighten loose skin the way surgery does. It does not switch off the muscle that etches the forehead. It does not rebuild a jaw or erase a nose. People who ask for a new face usually leave with an overfilled one, or with a clinic that should have said no.
A natural result is a small amount in the right layer. It is not a tour of every shadow visible in a hotel mirror after a night flight. Faces hold fluid after travel. Planning from that mirror, or from a single filtered photograph, is how ordinary features get overtreated.
Lips: border before bulk
Lip filler is the request we hear most from women travelling to Istanbul, and the request most often copied from someone else’s photograph. A lip that suits a face has an edge, closes comfortably, and matches the width of the chin and the nose. Volume without a border reads as swelling even when the swelling has gone. Some women need only the frame of the upper lip redefined. Some have lost volume after weight change or simply with time. Very few need the shape that dominates social media, and that shape on a narrow mouth is usually the thing they later ask to have dissolved.
The lip also lies. It swells within hours, sometimes unevenly, and a bruise can show up the next morning rather than in the clinic. Judging the result that evening, or adding more because the swelling looks uneven, is the wrong move. We do not treat a wedding, an engagement shoot, or a family dinner the next day as a reasonable setting for a first lip session. If the date is fixed, the honest interval is measured in weeks, not in the gap between landing and the event.
Cheeks, jawline, and chin
A cheek is not a space to fill because a face looks slim. Often the cheek has dropped slightly, the fold beside the nose looks deeper, and filling the fold alone builds a ridge in the middle of the face while the frame stays empty. Support higher in the cheek can make the fold less relevant. Sometimes the fold is mostly a muscle and filler should stay out of it.
Chin and jawline work shows more in profile than in a front-facing selfie. A short chin can make the nose look larger and the lower lip look heavy. A small amount of chin filler can rebalance a profile. It cannot change bone, and it should not be used to chase a sharp angle on very thin skin, where the gel becomes a visible ridge. These are decisions made with the woman sitting up and turning her head, not from a chat message that says “jawline like this photo”.
Smile lines, the under-eye, and the nose
A nasolabial fold can take a small amount of filler when the skin is thick enough and the fold comes from lost support. If the fold appears only when she smiles, Botox around the muscle, or no injection at all, may be the cleaner plan.
The tear trough is where we slow down. The skin is thin, fluid collects, and gel placed too close to the surface can leave a blue-grey fullness that lasts months. A dark circle is not always a hollow. Poor sleep, pigment, and a small fat pad all photograph like a groove and none of them is treated the same way. If the under-eye is the reason for the trip and the anatomy is wrong for filler, we say so.
Non-surgical nose work means a small camouflage of a minor hump or a limited tip change in a nose that can accept it. It does not narrow a wide tip, straighten a deviation, or replace surgery. The nose is also a place where a vessel injury has to be respected, not marketed as a lunchtime tweak. Someone who wants a new nose between two meetings is not a candidate.
Who is a reasonable candidate
Age is a weak guide. A woman in her twenties may need a lip border and nothing else. A woman in her fifties may need cheek support and should not be sold a lip at the same visit just because she is already in the chair. What matters is a change that can be described in one sentence, a face that can accept the gel, and a medical history that does not make injection a bad idea this month.
We postpone for pregnancy and breastfeeding, infection on the skin to be treated, a documented allergy to the product or the local anaesthetic, an uncontrolled bleeding problem, and active disease that the injecting clinician judges unsafe. Nobody should stop a prescribed medicine because a clinic page suggested it. Blood thinners and some supplements increase bruising. They are disclosed, and the person injecting decides.
We also refuse the plan that starts with “the same amount as my friend”, and the plan that dissolves yesterday’s work in the morning and rebuilds a different face in the afternoon. Dissolving is a procedure with its own swelling. It is not an undo button that restores a ten-year-old photograph by dinner.
Before the ticket is bought
Send a front photograph and a side photograph in daylight, without a filter, mouth closed and then with a slight smile. Add the last time the face was injected, the product name if you have it, allergies, pregnancy, medicines, and any event in the two weeks after you land. The clinic is in Maslak. The phone is +90 506 031 62 86 and the email is info@diamond-clinic.net.
From there we say whether filler makes sense, in which area, and in which order. Lips and cheeks on the same day are reasonable for some faces and a bad idea for others, because lip swelling can wreck the judgement of everything else. A second area is not added to complete a package. If an old product is unknown, we would rather delay than guess on top of it.
Women coming from the Gulf, the Levant, or Europe usually do better landing the day before, not the morning of treatment after a night flight. A one-day trip can work for a small, already-understood area. It is the exception. Bruises do not respect a return boarding pass.
On the day
The face is examined again. A photograph does not show how thick the skin is or how the smile actually moves. The area, the proposed product, and the things that will not change are talked through before a needle is opened. Lip numbing is unpleasant for a few minutes. The injections are usually shorter than people expect. The decision takes longer than the needle.
Straight afterwards the lip looks bigger than the settled result and the cheek can show small entry points. Pressure, hard exercise, sauna heat, and sleeping face-down are avoided at first. Makeup on a fresh puncture is not a fix for the journey back through the airport. It waits until the skin has closed.
The first days, then the real review
Tenderness, swelling, and a small bruise are common and settle over days. A lip takes longer to look calm than a cheek. Slight asymmetry while fluid is still there is not a failed injection. Adding more the next morning to “balance” swelling is how faces get heavy.
Review the settled face, not the hotel mirror on the night of treatment. If a real deficit remains, a small top-up can be discussed. If the settled shape is heavier than agreed, dissolving can be discussed when the product is hyaluronic acid and the clinician agrees. Dissolving itself swells. It is not instant.
How long does it last? Long enough that a number printed on a website is usually a sales figure. Lips tend to metabolise gel faster than cheeks. Training, metabolism, amount, and placement all move the date. A serious plan assumes a later review, not a face that is finished after one trip.
Risks that should not be shortened to “a little bruise”
Bruising, swelling, and local soreness are the effects people already expect. The uncommon one that matters is a vessel blocked by gel. The warning signs are not “a bit of sensitivity”. Severe pain that does not feel like a needle prick, skin that blanches and then mottles or looks grey, or any sudden change in vision, needs contact immediately rather than a review tomorrow. These events are not common in trained hands. A plan for what to do is still part of consent. Call +90 506 031 62 86 if you are unsure. Uncertainty is a reason to call.
Small lumps, a blue tint under thin under-eye skin, or asymmetry that remains after swelling has gone, go back to the person who injected. Another clinic dissolving an unknown product on sight can make the problem larger. You should leave knowing what was used and where.
Injection through inflamed acne, or a new layer placed over a product nobody can name, turns a short trip into a longer medical problem. If you cannot remember the last filler, say that. A delay is cleaner than a guess.
Filler beside Botox, boosters, and HydraFacial
They are not interchangeable. Botox quiets a muscle that folds the skin when you frown, lift the brow, or smile. It does not fill a cheek. Skin boosters are micro-injections for hydration and texture, not lip size. HydraFacial treats the surface and can be a reasonable pre-event clean if the skin can tolerate it. It will not change a deep fold.
Combining them is sometimes right and often badly timed. A swollen lip plus an aggressive facial on the same afternoon is a poor idea. Forehead Botox and a cheek filler, in a woman whose plan is already clear, can fit one trip if the swelling schedule allows. We do not start from a bundle because the bundle is cheaper.
What actually changes the fee
There is no honest single price for “a face”. The fee moves with the area, the amount and type of product, whether old filler has to be dissolved, and the time the assessment takes. A useful question before you transfer money is what the written figure includes, whether a review is part of it, and what happens if dissolving is needed. A very low number attached to a product with no name is information. It is not a bargain.
Questions worth asking before you agree
- Which product, in which area of my face, and why that one?
- What will not improve even if we add more?
- Has this area been injected before, and is the old product known?
- When will I see the settled shape rather than the shape at one hour?
- Which sign means I call immediately?
- Can this be dissolved later, and when would dissolving be a bad idea?
- If I have an event in four days, does this date still make sense?
An answer that stays at “it will look natural and it is guaranteed” means the consultation has not happened. A useful answer names an area, a limit, a time when the swelling should be judged, and a way to reach someone if the uncommon thing happens.
How to start
Send clear photographs and a short history: what you want changed, what you do not want changed, any previous injection, and any date you cannot afford to be swollen. We will say whether lip, cheek, or jawline filler is the path, or whether the conversation should move to Botox, to skin boosters, or to no injection. Write via the contact page or the appointment page, or call +90 506 031 62 86. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 18:00, in Maslak, Istanbul.
This page explains how Diamond Clinic approaches facial filler. It is not a diagnosis and it is not a personal treatment plan. Results vary with anatomy, product, technique, and aftercare. Nothing here is a guaranteed shape.
